My original thought was that a woman should avoid sex in which she is being disrespected in any shape or form. That has been my philosophy until this point and I have taken a keener liking to Professor Triff’s concept of not using people as a means to an end. In any situation, sexual or otherwise, I think that we can agree that it is unethical and just plain wrong to use people like tools for our own personal interest. This has gone on because it always had; most cultures have a very chauvinistic approach to their human rights ideals. The only reason that human trafficking continues is because despite our own knowledge and feelings, there are still some individuals who believe they can do this. Our over goal in the matter is to stop them and to educate others what is in my opinion an obvious truth.

I think it’s something to do with what we talked about today that we tend to see women as property. The society has created wrong image of women, such as women are weak, women are sensitive, or women are sexy. Moreover, media support this kind of wrong image that on TV, we often see women half naked try to sell products, or a lot of beautiful dressed women in the commercials. It sounds really wrong, but we accept that way into our everyday life. Look everywhere, women wear super high heel to school, what is this for? Do you want to be so attractive? It’s stupid (for me), or you will see women showing too much skin, is it sexy? What’s for? Yes, those girls want to attract guys, but is it their fault? Maybe yes, maybe not. society enjoy women being like mannequins, dressed up nice and sexy with beautiful faces, so women have a big pressure to be like mannequins. That is if we, woman cover everything, wrap all skin with clothes, people think it’s weird. On the date, if a woman wears long slive, long pants with cap and gloves on, she is not attractive. Here is the problem; she is not attractive for whom?? I think the answer is for guys. DO you see? We already look at women like properties, and this is the problem of prostitution and being raped. Why there are prostitutions everywhere? Because prostitutes know that their body as women can make money, and there are demand for that. Therefore, unless we change how we see women, this problem won’t be eliminated.

Human trafficking...If it weren't for the money I believe it would significantly go away. But rape...nah the problem with that is that the girls don't report it or say anything. They don't because they're afraid of the humiliation, but everyone needs to know the power of exposing those who did it. Rape I believe is more of a mental thing, where the girls don't think it's that bad so they don't say anything. If I was a girl I would probably cut the guys balls off so he can't have kids, but that's just me. If everybody reported it and those who did it were charged for the crime then rape wouldn't happen as often. It's almost like the civil rights movement. People need to speak out!
I have a friend that was raped in high school. Her biggest regret at the time was not saying anything, because others were raped too. Imagine if everyone said something...Evil prevails when good men/women don't act. And to all you rapists out there, I'll kick all your asses

I don't think Human Trafficking fall as the fault of these women the fault falls on two parties’ society and the parents of these women or girls. society because the laws that we have are not striced enough if we as a society had laws such as if a "john" picks up a women for Prostitution and get caught give him five to ten years I bet people will think twice before they think about Or on the flip side maybe society can legalize Prostitution That way it come from out the back street into the open and government watch. In Europe Prostitution is legal and society isn't falling apart. By make it legal there will be no need for "pimps" or people selling women for sex. And the second to blame is the parents the reason I blame them is because they should have a better handle on what goes on if their little girl’s life and doing thing that lower the chances of the girl getting kidnap and sold for sex.

Traffic of women for sex remains a serious issue, even in the twenty-first century. It is most widespread in underdeveloped countries, such as Thailand and South Africa, where recruiters find poor young women and offer them employment overseas. However, instead of employment, these women are beaten and forced into prostitution. Sex trafficking happens all over the world, even in the United States. There are many reasons why we still struggle with these issues in the 21st century. Primarily, there is little prosecution for sex traffickers and a great incentive to make a lot of money, very quickly. Internationally, the efforts to find and bring these traffickers to justice have not been strong enough. Another reason is that there is little awareness of the issue. Most people have the idea that sex trafficking only happens in the poorest countries and don’t see how it affects them. If awareness about this issue is raised, a lot less women would fall prey to promises of a better life overseas. Finally, another reason why human traffic is still prevalent is because many young individuals are unable to find work in their country and are desperate to go overseas for work. Human traffickers prey on this desperation. To really get to the root of the problem, living standards need to improve for people around the world.

One way to reduce the amount of rapists is to encourage people who had been rape to report it to police with as much information as possible. A lot of rapists out there think they can rape anybody and get away with it, that’s why they keep on doing it. Also, women need to be careful about what they’re wearing because most of the time that’s what attracts a rapist, because rapists don’t think straight that is the reason why they rape in the first place.
Moreover, human trafficking is a serious issue all over the world. The pimps lied to the kids’ parents saying that the child would go to school, go to college, and send money for them when they know that the child will be working for them. That is wrong and sometime even people who work in the government are involved in human trafficking. For example, look what just happen in Haiti after the earthquakes. A group of people went to Haiti and got some children to Santo Domingo claiming that they wanted to help them. How can we be so sure of that? Human traffickers often claimed that they would help the kids and send them to schools so the parents can agree. That’s one of the reasons why it’s hard to identify human traffickers.

Humantrafficking is a serious problem around the world. I have seen countless documentaries and shows about it and it sadens me everytime. The problem starts with men viewing woman as objects and inferior to them. They are selfish and greedy. What makes you think you can take control of another human beings life for your own benefit?! I don't understand the mentality but it is definatly very real. Personally living in Las Vegas for 6 years I met quite a few girls going through that exact thing and it really opened up my eyes to how common it really is. These women very often are emotionally unstable due to unhealthy childhood and are looking for someone to care and take them in. I think there needs to be other places that they can turn to and they need to know that they need to talk about the things they have been through in order to move on from them. They need to feel like they have self worth and they don't have to lower themselves to such things. Women also need to educated, not only in this country but in the other countries as well so that they are aware of how easily it can happen to anyone.

I absolutely agree with Yumi as far as how the media has an effect on the norms and through it all it is a CONDITION of the external forces. But there are other issues that are not being addressed under this topic...
1)search for confidence with reinforcement through opposite sex reaction.
2)GREED
3)and sex addictions

I personally have met women in my life (friends as well) that have volunterely gone to strip clubs to dance with absolutely no financial need. Women who have prostituded themselves and picked up men that have money because they believe that getting paid is better than haveing sex with a man who will at the end leave anyway.
What about the woman who decides she's better off selling her p*ssy to be maintained because she's just lazy like that? She'd rather be getting her nails done at the salon then washing dishes in order to gain a decent living?
These women have never been raped, molested, harmed, placed in a financial set back and just LIKE SEX AND MONEY. Yes...these type of women exist and more so in SOUTH FLORIDA (since it is the easiest place to use as an example as well)
Granted, I am not ignoring the uglier side of the situation at hand...but at some sick level most of these men actually believe the women "want it".
If I were a man and I interacted with the girls of which I have mentioned prior....I would believe all women "wanted it" too.
This would in turn be subjective relativism...since it is right since he believes it's right-he's pleasing a woman with her most inner desire.

I think we need to take a premitive approach to rapists. Worldwide we should start cutting the rapists arms and balls. No arms to use force. Problem number 1 solved, not to mention we would know almost immediately who the rapists are. And nipping the testicles off a man is like neutering a dog. His personality changes completely and becomes docile. No more raging horney hormones.

P.S. I'd use the cutting of limbs for serial killers too. They cant kill that easily without legs and arms.

Barbaric? yes....solution? Simple.

...if it's good enough for a man's best friend...it's definitely top of the line opportunity to get your sacks nipped for a rapist.

I think that human trafficking is very wrong. I've heard reports that there is human trafficking even here in the U.S. The majority for it are women and mostly young and teenage girls. I think that it's pathetic for human beings to use other humans many women as tools and as our property. We are suppose to share and live together and work as a team. That is what I truly believe in. If some one is using a person for just pure pleasure then they seriously have no long or have had a traumatizing life. Women who get kidnapped and then are forced to do this need to rise above what the kidnappers say and try to escape and go to the police. If this doesn't stop then it will continue to grow and things will become a lot worse in the future. In my opinion I think that it's already very serious if we see it in the U.S. For instance, we get a angry against pedophiles and we take that extremely serious, but when young girls get kidnapped and are used as prostitutes, we aren't making that a bigger deal. This needs to stop.

we have to remember that as far as we know this is a mans world. [no, i'm not trying to be sexist and cannot be because i'm a girl.] and we as woman just live in it and have been trying for years and centuries to make ourselves known whether by good judgment or bad. anyways, trafficking of woman in my opinion is just a male ego kind of thing. i think men in general not all are so strung up on themselves that they need a woman to bend down in front of them to show respect. why do you think woman in the middle east or polygamist still bow down to their men. thats wrong no doubt about that. but as far as moving woman for money its wrong in all forms.. but i guess thats how we judge society and this wouldn't even be an issue if woman who were so unfortunate to get abused were to come out and convict these felons who have no resect for human dignity or honor. or at least treat them as the sickly and unfortunate.

Sex perverts the mind beyond reasoning. It is and has been the most prominent, prevalent and notorious addiction of our species. Even though its an intrinsic desire, we have abused and misrepresented this innate function. While sex is an inherent desire that promotes procreation and the advancement of our species, it simultaneously in my opinion impedes our progression by allowing our emotions to overwhelm our reasoning. Our rational is what harbors these apparent promiscuous sexual tendencies, sex feels good therefore we have sex whenever we see fit. However giving into these primitive sensuous desires is why sex exploitation is flourishing, without a demand there wouldn’t be no market. Am I saying to only have sex in order to reproduce? Of course not, that would be a blatant insult to our intelligence. What I am suggesting is that we as a collective, must stop being so superficial. Due to our tendencies to favor the most physically adapt and most prevalent social standard of beauty or innocence, we are inadvertently fostered sex exploitation. We should in my opinion look upon the opposite sex objectively. I believe if this was the case worldwide, relationships would be much more meaningful, the marriage rate would not be so abysmal and sex exploitation would hit a sharp decline because sex would be recreationally induced and not so perversely sought after. Many countries in my opinion look towards America for direction. By allowing such sordid activities that degrade women as only a lustful fantasy to become commonplace here, we have in fact caused turmoil over sees. Leave the bedroom eyes for the bedroom. This is the only way I see to completely eradicate these heinous acts from occurring. As for the immediate solution I have no fruitful theory, but I believe as long as there are benign individuals that would risk their own safety to oppose the trafficking of these women, sex exploitation will not expand further. Even though this is an absolutely repulsive practice, we must always remember that hate only breeds more hate.

Human trafficking is a critical issue that is deeply affecting women in most undevelopped countries, commonly in "The Third World". As a woman, I feel deeply connected to the miserable lives of these women who are often young who in many circumstances HAVE to prostitute themselves but what many people don't understand about Human Trafficking is the fact that people, many people are actually making money due to that. Some people want to escape misery or even to realize their dreams and they often take anything to arrive at their goals and that is how many young girls actually get caught. They met a nice guy who can sell them for a few books and that is how everything begins. We can't use people as a mean to an end and I beleive that is the reason why I realize that human trafficking is an outrage, a crime to people' freedoms and desires. New laws have to be put in practice in order to put a sanction for all these people who are making BIG due to that. Societies also have to glorify women, appreciate them as they are not as objects. People who have power and knowledge have to inform the world about such issue and I'm pretty sure that more women should less prostitute themselves even if they were really in critical financial situation because at the end, these women lose their identities, their bodies and most importantly their respect.

Human Trafficking is a major issue in many countries in the Eastern parts of the world. It is also a major problem, right here in the U.S. So many young women and children are put through terrifying situations, that none of us could ever begin to imagine the experience of how it feels. They are treated harshly and are used as slaves, and to think this is the only kind of life they know and was exposed to, is truly sad. Some are brought into this business at an early age. Many are being sold even for the exchange of money; especially in some poor families, (they do this because they feel that they have no other choice to support their family). I just think that this kind of life is unfair and it really isn’t living either. Human Trafficking is really degrading and disrespecting a person’s body. This is a perfect example, of using someone as a means to an end.

It saddens me that women and children around the world continue to be treated as a means to an end. I realize those links that Dr. Triff shared us were only microscopic glimpses of the issue at hand. It upsets me to see so many kids living on the streets, begging, forced to make adult decisions, and take on adult responsibilities. When it comes to ethics, I'm a firm believer of universality, and reversibility. As I watched those Youtube videos, I experienced a connection with each of the kids, women, and the environment. Without a doubt in my mind, I would not want to live under those deplorable conditions. I would not want my wife, or daughter being raped repeatedly by anyone. Human trafficking and sex exploitation is wrong!! Homeless children, sex slaves, and rape are not just developing countries' issues, they're our own. About two weeks ago, I went to Walgreens around midnight, there were two teenage boys outside of the store begging for cash; they said they were just trying to get cash to go home, but I suspected otherwise. Last week I went to the same Walgreens, and who did I see? Yes, the same kid begging for money; it's getting worse! We need to love these kids, they're our furture!!

Human Trafficking is a solemn issue faced by many women in society today. Sometimes it makes me wonder if there not well-educated, or because of the fact they really don't have a choice. Those women are brutally abused everyday by us because of the fact they sees it as the only alternatives to support themselves. Although prostitution it is not something I endorse in any way, there should be strict rules and regulation set to protect the women from predators in society. Prostitution we never stop, therefore, the only way to cut down on those crimes is to apply certain rules. There are tugs and gangsters out their, and will do anything to the girls to get their money worth. Sometimes those women are not to be blamed because of the fact they grew up poor, and they too were victims in the homes themselves. Women are also sent out in the prostitution field by their own family and friends to provide food in the homes and other necessity. Human Trafficking is consider to be a slavish act, and if not dealt with, our women will continue to be the main target for crimes, and sex toy for a long time. "Say no to prostitution".

Human trafficking has been around for centuries and isn’t going anywhere. It is an awful, inhumane form of slavery and is unfair to many women and children around the world. We continue to struggle with the issue of human trafficking because it is a lucrative business and is too hard to police it. Prostitution is bad enough but buying a human being and forcing them into prostitution is terrible. Human trafficking doesn’t just happen in dark places of the world, it is also happening in our own back yard. I believe we will continue to hear about this just as we will continue to hear about drugs. There is so much money in this illegal industry and it is here to stay. Since it is hard to stop the big picture of human trafficking it will continue to plague our world for centuries more.

Human trafficking is very dangerous for humanity because it's illegal, immoral, and unethical. The scourge of human trafficking is a global phenomenon. It's widely considered as a modern day of slavery. Human traffecking occurs when the powerless are subjected to force, fraud, or coercion, for the purpose of sexual exploitation or forced labor. I think the most important reason that brings to human traffecking is the need of supply and the demand factors that leads children and adults to leave or be removed from their place of origin to a foreign place for purpose of exploitation. I strongly believe if we constantly help poor countries or needy people, we will deeply decrease the rate of human traffecking in the world. Humanity must join together to enforce laws and regulations to prevent the devastation of human traffecking and to provide care and shelters for homeless women and children.

This is such a disturbing subject on so many levels.
On a personal level I can relate to those some of those girls, the ones just out for a good time, because I have been there. In my early 20’s I was in a restaurant in Vienna and was asked to join a table of young people. It seemed unfriendly not to. But the next thing I remember was waking up in my hotel room…thankfully in one piece and alone…but shaking. Another time, I was walking alone in Athens looking for my hotel. A man came up to me and said he would help me. He was leading me away from my hotel and I didn’t know it. I looked back and saw the hotel sign…and I sprinted for it. It gives me chills to this day when I think of these events, or when I see reports of girls disappearing, because it could have very easily been me. So, first of all, women and girls must be educated that these things can happen to anyone.
On the next level, now as a mom, my heart breaks for those desperate young people with no home, no financial support, and no future. There must be intervention by private and public entities to provide health care (including enforced birth control!!), adoptions (with reasonable fees, maybe even free!), and access to jobs. How many Hollywood stars would it take to fund these programs? How many Le Braun James?
On the criminal level, I feel incensed that these criminals are walking our streets and I agree with the student who said we must get “primitive” with the perpetrators of sexual violence. The men who are preying on, abducting, selling and buying these woman and children should be treated like the terrorists they are. In early America we shot horse thieves. In India they cut off your hand for stealing. In Ireland, the authorities “visited” the families of the terrorists until the terrorists stopped the bombing. I say let the hand chopping off begin!
On the level that is humanity, it is a burden to know the depth and breadth of man’s inhumanity to man. God bless those clergymen who are working, a day at a time, and a soul at a time, to help. These men are humanities heroes. Not LeBraun.
Let’s face it; sex is the world’s oldest profession. I am actually not anti-prostitution. If an adult woman chooses to work in the sex industry, it should be her choice. But these poor souls we met were not given a choice. Whatever their “sins” (and I am sure they have them) they do not deserve this sentence they are living.

Whether you like or not prostitution is unethical! It hurts to see a good friend throw her life away to make easy money. Soon enough she was taken into the life of prostitution. She is a smart girl but being kicked out her home at the age of 17 years old, what much can she do. She is a smart and beautiful girl who threw away her 3.4 gpa in high school. I blame our state legislators and city officials for letting this happen to my friend and not to forget her parents. Almost everywhere you drive in Miami you will always find a McDonalds, Wal-mart, and a strip club!!! Our society isn’t ashamed about this either we are accepting it like it is normal. I knew men get raped in prison but also in the army that is sickening. In addition the army officials try to cover it up to stop the media from making matters worse for them. One has to remember you can’t put a price on someone’s smile. Watching each link I remembered my high school friend who she threw her education away for this life because she had no one else to go to. How can America struggle about this issue, when we allow people to open strip clubs and night clubs every day? Women are selling their body’s for money because of the officials don’t care they see it as a legit business running in Miami. However, these girl and men are being harmed by others which are unnecessary evil. The pimps are beating and killing the girls and no one knows about it because the girls are running away from home. Sex slaves, children living in the streets, and rape are all in our backyard and we allow it. We might catch a petafile or two every day but the numbers of children which are the future are living in the streets and this is something one can stop or help. There are programs like PAL (Police Athletic League) that helps children but they help the children plan to have a future. Yes, the Miami Dade police care they will go out there way to make sure the children are living good lives. I believe this is one way to help parents stay in control with their children.

Here we are in the twenty first century where some people are steel being treated as if they were some sort of property. Where is that going? How worse does it need to get before we start taking some measurement towards solving what to me is one of the worse issues that we are now facing. These people that are being abuse are mostly women and also young children that are sometimes forced to make adult decisions. For example, prostitutions, after reading the links that are posted on Prof Triff’s blog, one can understand that there are a lot of prostitutes that becomes prostitutes not because of their free will, but because they somehow have been abused, raped or beaten. One should never have to sell his or her body to make a living. In my opinion, the authorities that have the power to put in place laws that would solve such issue either don’t have a clear view on the issue or maybe it is just that they don’t care.

Now in these days, it’s pretty sad and quite difficult to acknowledge and accept that we, sensitive creatures, with a highly developed brain capable of reasoning, capable of problem solving and capable of having great social interactions between our species, could degrade another of our nature because of our severe problems when controlling our most basic instincts as our sexuality and greed. In my view, over time, poor decisions have led people to undergo slavery. Laziness, for example, has led many people to ignorance, which in turn leads to poverty, which then leads to bad decisions that only provoke very serious consequences-same consequences for which these evil beings have been waiting for. Then, by ending our laziness we would end with our ignorance; this would help us to create a more secure environment for ourselves that would diminish our chances of falling into the hands of slags that cannot control their degenerate instincts. Our women are sacred because they are bearers of life thanks to their blessed bellies, so we men should not sully their purity with our tainted dark wishes.

Human trafficking mainly targets children and women. These children & women come from poor places and lack education that may lead them to better economic opportunities. They tend to fall victims of human traffickers because they are offered a so called "better future" by these people. Some children end up in this business either because the family was desperate and needed the money, because they have no home, family,or any other means by which to survive. In the Japan rape video these girls from the country are given flyers that promise to give them a city life experience if they join the group. Being that many of the girls are ignorant to what "city life" really is they believe that what this group is showing them is what they should do, they fall in to their traps and just end up raped, ashamed, and threatened if they went to the police. The women in this case all fell victims to the false promises shown in the flyers. The children from Russia resorted to the streets for different reasons. For example the little girl named Svetlana she ended up having to go to the streets to collect bottles or beg when her mother couldn't take care of her and her family when she got ill. Svetlana was desperate to help provide some sort of food for her brothers and sisters that would help them survive while her mother couldn't provide for them. Yuri and Max met on the streets. Yuri does have a family and home, but he prefers living on the street to runaway/escape from his abusive step father and careless mother who prefers her men over her child. Yuri’s friend Max has no parents to provide for him. Max begs on the streets for either money or food with Yuri to survive. He also prefers living on the streets, but he has different reasons from his friend, he could into any of the places the country provides for homeless children, but he says they are just as bad because of the people that work there or the other children living in these places. Both are not in school so they don't really have a chance for a better future either. At the end of the day I think that human trafficking exist in the 21st century because people are not well informed on these type of people and what they really offer, alot of the victims are afraid to let the authorities know because they are scared not only for their lives, but also for their families, and others because they lack resources to provide for themselves and their families so they feel they have no other options but the streets.

We can not use people as a means to an end. Prostitution is a huge issue that I think will never end. Prostitution starts with sexual abuse in early childhood or watching porn, porn perverts the mind therefore there's no innocence. I think that the woman that are in prostitution are weak, and have a very low self esteem. Society degrade's woman as only to satisfy pleasures. I also think that advertising uses women as object, almost every product that is put out in the market has a half naked women. Woman need to be appreciated, not be treated as an object and treated with lots of respect just think of your mother would you like for her to be doing that? No one would! I honestly think if it wasn't for money this would not be an issue. Women should stop selling there bodies for money or even trade sex for drugs. Its said that in other countries they have a 9 year old prostituting to feed herself and her family while there's a man in the house doing nothing or even playing. In many cases prostitutes are being raped but of course they don't stand up for them selves because they need money or they're scared that something might happen. They need to report them and give a full description of the man that did it, they're not thinking that it can be happening to other women. Many people say its an easy way of making money but its not easy for them they loss everything and money can't buy them life, love for them self, respect, and there dignity. The only way to stop this is putting out laws for prostitution every women that does it goes to jail for 10 years and every man that gets caught buying sex also goes to jail. All these people need emergency therapy.

Honestly after watching the youtube links posted and reading the post, it left me feeling real emmotional. It saddens me deeply because of those kids not being able to enjoy a regular kid's life and those females who are in slavery being used as a means to an end. Gang rape? Thats a hard pill for me to swallow because i have a little sister who i love dearly and just the thought of her going through that makes me want to harm someone and not think about the after effects. Me personally i think those are the people who needs to be stone. To be an egois and take a females body and use it as a means to an end brings saddness to my heart because we as man are suppose to be the protectors of our females, our future child bearers, our future mothers and our future daughters. This is truly unethical. The sad part about this is that right now as i type, someone is being kidnapped to be another statistic of human trafficing. Really i dont want to be another blogger assuming a possibility that might help these people. My response to this post is show me and point me in the direction to where i can help and i will. Thanks for posting because i feel that we really need to bring awareness to this situation to show people that they should be grateful for the minor problems they are facing now because it could be far worst.

This issue of human trafficking has existed for a very long time. It seems like this could be an issue that will never be stopped because no matter what approach someone could take to prevent human trafficking, there is always a way to continue this immoral act. This happens all over the world and it happens every minute that passes by. Homeless children end up being a huge victim in the issue of human trafficking. Sex exploitation is the one that sickens me the most! How can people do things to others for their own benefits? That is horrible. Sex can be a very good form of releasing many things out of someone’s system. But when someone’s desire gives the drive to go more than just sex and exploit it with many people…. It is just plain WRONG. This issue is mainly affecting women in the most undeveloped countries. It just affects women everywhere, nonetheless. For some reason, it could affect men as well. Rape is wrong!!! Very, very wrong… and yet again, people get satisfaction out of doing those things. Who would want to live a life like that anyway? No one, and yet they are forced to live in it. I strongly agree in helping in most undeveloped nations with the issues of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. It could be a small step towards a great result.

I've never been able to understand how someone can pay another person to have sex. Unfortunately, in our society, women are seen as the weakest, most sensitive and emotional one. They are even seen as a property that men take for granted. Why do we have such discrimination toward women? Aren't they the ones who sacrify their body in order to give us birth? SO, why so much disrespect, even violence toward them?, why adding more traumatism in their lives? Many of us have at least watched pornography once; some people actually say that porn arouses them. That means, watching other people having sex increases their own desire!!!!! Have you ever thought that, this woman could have been your mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, even wife? Sincerly, would you still enjoy it if it was one of them? It is time for us to eliminate that "image of sexual property" that we have about women.Furthermore, isn't sex an intimate way to express your love for your someone? So, why selling it, why buying it?

when it comes to using woman for sexually activity and human trafficking I think its not fair at all its just dead wrong just to use them for these reasons. Even though some women our welling to sell there body or prostitution its a thing they want or is force to do it. human trafficking is mostly done in the south America countries where they used them to get money even little girls which cost the most the a older woman. like Yumi Fujisawa stated when these young ladies wear clothe that shows to much which don't cover the body there are looking for a guys attention when they wrong guy looks at them and tries to talk to them they give them attitude. they bring all the attention plus the attraction they want to themselves. there selling there body but don't even know what they are doing. wearing clothes that shows little or too much skin is a sign that most guys like personally to me wearing things like that is not attract at all to me it tells me that your looking for attention and want to be better then the other ladies around you. Trafficking woman from countries to other countries is just for MANY reasons which is for SEX or to use them to work and don't even get the right money for the job. trafficking has its many purposes and reasons why people do it? too the m the don't see anything wrong with it because their not the person or people who are being used and abuse.

there isn't much to say except the obvious, well prostitution is wrong. Being used as an object to perform sexual acts is probably never a good feeling, whether you do it for money or not, intimacy is supposed to be exactly that. INTIMATE. not a trade for money, most women who end up in these predicaments have somehow endured some sort of sexual or physical abuse. I learned in my psychology class that women who are sexually abused usually tend to have more promiscuous tendencies than those who are not..... its hard to believe that women who get paid to do this don't feel some sort of guilt or emptiness, i mean most guys treat them bad and say rude things, no matter how much money you are making no one likes to be treated in such a bad and depraved way. Human trafficking comes down a lot to sex. and the sex industry is what makes money,,,, SEX SELLS, its just hard to believe that there is no limit to this....

Human trafficking simply said is modern day slavery. This is an act that is not new, especially in overseas areas. It is defined as the movement of people (mostly women and children), through violence and devestation. It is completely wrong and should be enforced on many nations to put a stop on it. One way to put awarness to this subject is to teach children and people in need that they are always recognized and should respect their bodys so that they can live a healthy life. I agree with most comments that prostiution is wrong and for the people who use prositution for their benifits puts the wrong to a higher level. Also, I believe that the traffickers should be abolished of all means, it is sad seeing woman or men selling their body for purposes of money and with that comes abuse. I remember watching a movie about a little girl who was abused by her dad and learnd the ways of prostitution. Examples like this gives a devestated life for the children, parents should really look out for their children, it sickens me when I hear parental abuse. At the end we all learn to live one way or the other but we must always keep in mind that our bodys are one of the most precious things in life and we must do everything to protect it, human trafficking is wrong and is defenitly considered rape.

Human trafficking, and child pornography/prostitution is wrong and should never be solicitated. I do believe however, that prostitution should be legal and regulated. It is a career choice like any other, and has been in exhistence since before Jesus Christ. These people often choose this career out of unfortunate circumstances (like drug addiction, poverty, and prior sexual abuse), but ultimately it is their choice. So the question becomes not why they choose to sell their services , but why their is a market for them. There is a market because our society is perverted. Our society is perverted because we are taught to hide our feelings, mask them with lies, and continue an existence of sexual frustrations and perversions. As for human trafficing goes, a man that commits rape to any woman of any age (or any other sexual crime), should be put to death. The earth would be better without their genetic codes being implanted into innocent victims.

p.s. I love the comment comparing the rapists to dogs. I found it sickly commical.

Will all due respect, Professor, I found the phrasing of the Human Trafficking post inflammatory and illogical. I believe it suffers from a conflation of the harsh treatment of sex workers with the nature of their line of work. Is their treatment a direct effect of what they do for a living, or is it a result of the attitudes toward them? If prostitution were not so reviled, they would not be seen as objects of scorn to be abused; they would also be protected under law and thus would not be fringe elements to be thrown about whichever way pleases the deviant elements.

I posit that once you remove from the sex work issue the religious morality (and prudery) which permeates so many societies, you are left with a profession which is inherently no more exploitative than construction work, massage therapy, or any other occupation which trades physical labor ("selling your body") for material gain. Or, if you'd prefer to view it as a cashing in of erotic capital, a swimsuit model is no less guilty.

Only when we look at prostitution from a "sex is wrong/sacred/abusive" standpoint can it be seen as unethical exploitation of a human being. For that, you would have to rationalize the labeling of sex as objectively wrong, sacred or abusive - outside of religiously-created norms, because let's not forget that not all of us find use for Judeo-Christian mores, though we might be quite ethical, or more so, without them, once our ethics are purposely fashioned from logic instead of doctrine.

Imagine for a moment a society where 90% of the manual labor force is comprised of abused slaves... Would we not soon be having the same argument about the immorality of the construction trade?

It is also possible to argue this from a gender-feminist stance and say that the whole reason patriarchal society has deemed prostitution offensive is that it lets women use a clear biological advantage they possess over men: our sexual assets are much more coveted by men than theirs are by us. They are willing to go to ridiculous lengths to gain access to us, and thus we wield a power with which we could literally leave men in the poorhouse. This has conveniently been curtailed with patriarchal religion - notice that the more gender equity a religion allows, the more promiscuity a female is allowed without inciting the community's wrath.

Anyone can be exploited in almost any line of work. When we freely choose our profession because it pleases and suits us, we are not victims.

Hesitantly (but cordially),
A Woman

P.S. Just to be clear, I believe that exploiting any human being, using them against their wishes for a thing they find hateful and repugnant, is disgusting and a clear violation of human rights. To gain from another's suffering is the vilest abomination.

Thank you. I've spoken my peace. I just felt that the two issues needed to be separated.
