Animal and human emotions are identical, intelligence the same, as
animals do possess for example common sense, compassion, empathy, reasoning, and wisdom. The only difference is physical features that do not enable
them to make a letter because their digits are not like humans, except
for the Great Apes and other simians, and they're designed by The
God Creator that they do not need to write stories on paper, film or
internet , and they do not need clothing, or makeup. The terrible side is that us human beings are the ones that destroy, harm and kill for no good reason look at our plant just overloaded with human beings that care little for what the God
Creator had created for all living beings to live with humbleness and
common sense, compassion, empathy, and reasoning, and a healthy, happy
life. Because of our over population of human beings, our greed and
selfishness, we have become crazy, or to put it better insane .Animal
will never let humans know what they know unless humans believe in them.
What I am trying to say is that animals should have rights not the same as humans but we humans we need to have more compassion of animals. For instance animals can`t say when something hurts ect but they could feel pain. Animals such as dogs are great pets they take care of humans. Dogs protect people and we don`t appreciate this dogs have a good sense that they feel when something bad is going to happen. Horses also have this feeling they sense when something bad is going to happen but yet we are still getting rid of these poor animals.

As a carnivore, one might say, I disagree with the fact that animals should have rights. Of course, fried "chicken" with french fries tastes good to me, however, it's more about reasoning than the senses.

As a rationalist, and a dualist, I do agree that animals should have some rights. Like human beings, Jehovah God created animals with the same senses. In reality, humans and animals share some similarities. Since we have rights, why not give and respect the rights of the animals.

But then again, some might say how will animals have rights when we have to eat them? On the contrary, a human being does not have to eat an animal to stay alive. There's vegetable, fruits, grain, they'll keep you alive and sometimes even longer than an animal meat can.

Not to get in much detail, but simply what I am trying to say is that, do not abuse animals just cause we may have an advantage over them. We are no better than they are. Till this day, even though I enjoy eating meat, I still have feel a bit guilty, and selfish. Would it be fair if I was on a chicken's dinner plate just because the chicken is hungry. Who am I to think differently of an animal?

Honestly, the main reason why I continue to eat it, is because Jehovah God, through his inspiring word the bible says that the purpose of him creating animals is for us to eat. So am I still wrong??? According to his words, no. But, I still feel wrong at times.

As an animal lover , in my opinion animals do deserve rights because even thought animals are irrational in some ways they still feel, and you know they feel because animals can’t speak but they can make sounds and you’ll know they are in pain and they are suffering. Even though I’m a meat lover, I wouldn’t be brave enough to see someone kill an animal in front of me or even worst I wouldn’t be able to kill an animal myself, and if I eat the meat is because honestly while I’m eating I don’t think about how the animal suffered while it was being killed but I know they suffer and the fact I don’t think about is because I know myself and I know that if I start thinking about it I would stop eating the meat. If it was for me, honestly I would become a vegetarian because I believe meat is not necessary, and we eat it is because we like it and the fact I’m saying this is because I know vegetarian people that are in perfect conditions, they are healthy people and they do not eat meat.

Do animals deserve rights ? Not necessarily, according to my opinion, but to a certain extent. Lets say if we actually gave "The Animals" their rights what can they do with it ? If we gave these animals rights , will they be able to comprehened what is given to them ? certainly not . But then again, babies do not have any knowledge or comprehension skills of the law , but we tend to them because they are, our love ones. I guess we if we are going to give animals thier rights, i'm guessing we need to created a translator that will be able convert their:Moo's ,oink oink's, meow's,woof's... inorder to give them their rights. But in the long run, i really don't see them having rights. Then again, it doesn't give us the right to torture them and treat them in a horrible way.

Do I believe animals should have rights? That's a very important question. Yes I believe animlas should have rights. Just because animals can't talk and tell us how they feel about things, doesn't mean they don't feel what we're feeling inside. Even though we as humans eat animals, i'm pretty sure if animals could talk they'll tell us to stop. Now, you have certain animals that shouldnt have rights at all. for example pitbulls shouldnt have rights at all and deserve to be put down. But for some reason it kind of feels as if pitbulls are retaliating against humans because most humans feel as if animals shouldnt have rights at all. If there was some way I can save every animal that was put on death row, I most definitely would because i'm pretty sure no one wants to be treated the way some of these animals are treated. Its just wrong and very cruel. Animals are just as smart and intelligent as us humans. They can walk, feel, and act the same way as we humans can.

When you eat meat, do you think about any of these issues? Why or why not? Every single time that I eat meat I think about how the animal where killed? And why I enjoy so much eating it. On the other hand I think that is part of the food chain, as well as a lion has to hunt (its prey) to survive. We as humankind have to fall in the same chain to survive. Although we may think that we have more resources to balance our diet to live. Yet, I think that there are certain parameter that humankind has distortion and those are to violate the principal of respect for all species. No matter what our views on animal testing or killing are, it is without a doubt that all animals deserve respect. Animals are capable of feeling pain and suffering in many forms. They possess varying levels of neurological and psychological capacities, but any creature able to feel any form of pain should not be unreasonably subjected to it. Therefore, if we have been mandated to treat animals, as a part of creation, with kindness, we must begin to question current norms and practices which we know to be unethical based on this standard. Sadly, current practices often do not reflect this compassion toward many types of animals in any sense of the word.

I feel, what we all know and what we all can feel. Animals are not naturally meant to be caged and tortured. For most of the human experience on earth animals were wild and humans had to be competitively skilled in order to take the lives of animals and use their energy for food. I feel that it is natural to eat animals for food just as animals eat animals for food. One would argue that it is natural that they are caged now and that we all live our lives through the use of technology because all these things are occurring so they must be natural. I don't have a good response to this argument, I just know how I feel about it. I don't feel that it is right to treat animals badly and I don't feel that it is natural. I believe that all life on earth is connected and that is why I have these feelings even if I don't know how to explain them. Eating meat riddled with antibiotics and pesticides or seafood full of mercury and toxins probably isn't better then not eating meat at all. All the big problems of our time come back to the same end, too many people to feed with a lack of positive collective communication.

“Since animals have no language, leading scientists argue that it is impossible to know when an animal is suffering.” I believe that this is an understatement because babies have no language and yet we’re able to understand that something is obviously wrong. When an animal is hollering then you should know that they are suffering and in pain. Animal shouldn’t be taught any sign language aside from their personal lifestyle. Personally when I’m feasting on the Haitian infamous Griot and fried plantations, nowhere in my mind am I thinking about the pigs suffering before it was slaughtered. I believe that animal cruelty is this day and age is very brutal, but at the end of the day we are CARNIVORES and meat is one of the necessities needed to survive.

Andrew Davis said...

To begin, the short answer to the posed question is yes, animals do deserve rights. Now, the defining limits of these rights are a little hazier. I would think that for a bulk of the world, meat is engrained in the culture as a source of food. Not necessarily a major source, but as an option. Take America as an example: we have been taught from a very early age, via colorful and visually pleasing food pyramids, that eating a certain amount of meat is pivotal to a healthy diet. Now, many realize that meat is not necessary, that one can live without it. Evolutionarily speaking, we are omnivorous beings, but we have the incisors that denote a carnivorous background. Plus, looking into the wilds of nature, it is quite obvious that one animal eating another is no deadly sin and no rare occurrence. Therefore, I find that the human consumption of animals, in moderation at least, is not a violation of animal rights. However, the conditions in which we raise animals in order to consume them is absolutely atrocious, and is therefore a violation of the basic “rights” that we as moral beings should give to any living, breathing being. There exist arguments against animal rights because of the animal’s lack of speech, saying that because we cannot properly communicate with them, we cannot tell whether they are in pain, and can therefore not be sure whether or not they are being hurt by our actions. If it is not blatantly obvious to a human that a chicken, who has been de-beaked, de-taloned, fattened up by cannibalistic measures and injected with hormones, is in pain, then that human deserves the same fate. Animals, as beings that contain nervous systems and brains, should be granted the rights of comfortable life and movement, at the very least. Granted, it will take massive legislation and overhauls of our current agricultural system, but animal rights are an important subject. After all, the meat produced in the current system is both unhealthy to us, and our environment. So, if we were to grant the rights of comfortable life and free movement to animals, we would be aiding our own welfare in the process.

Michael Harrington said...

I do believe animals deserve certain rights. Most of us would never even consider harming our beloved pets or treating them poorly (injecting them with hormones or confining them to small spaces for prolonged periods of time). Yet, for some reason, it doesn't bother people that animals like cows and chickens are mass produced and raised under inhumane conditions. In addition, they are brutally slaughtered and forced to over breed. We might not eat our domesticated dogs and cats, but we nonetheless allow them to lead a decent lifestyle. Just because animals are not as "smart" as humans and cannot speak does not mean they do not sense or feel. I think that the eating of animals is not an infringement upon animal rights, since it is done among species. Yet all animals deserve to at least live the life ordained by nature. Animals should at least be granted the freedom to roam and live comfortably before their time is done.

In my opinion, animals like human beings deserve rights to live. They deserve rights to live freely. They don’t need to live their entire life in a cage until they are ready to be slaughter. Factory farmers need to stop violating animals’ rights. The way they use animals and animals’ products for food is not ethical. It is not moral for factory farmers to abuse animals in order to maximize their profits. They do all kind of abuses on animals including massive doses of hormones and antibiotics in order to make animals grow faster so they can generate their interests. Animals are suffering so much, but factory farmers are no regard of their suffering. Factory farmers are like egoist theory. They do not care about someone else interest, all their care about is their interest. They will do all kind of things as long as they gain profits from them. The violation of animals’ rights has been there for so long. Many philosophers in the past including Descartes, a great philosopher in the seventeen century, were not certain that animals have feelings. Descartes writes in his Discourse on Method that animals have no souls; therefore, they can feel no pain. It was one of the reasons, in most of their test experiments perform on live animals. Those kinds of cruel acts pushed a member of the Animal Liberation Font to enter in the headquarters of the Royal Society and slashed Descartes’ portrait several times with a knife. Animals ought to have rights. Therefore, advocates for animals’ rights need to stand up to defend their rights.

Do animals deserve rights? In my opinion, I can say yes to that question because all animals are suppose to have the rights like human being ,well to a certain extend. As human being we justify our domination and abuse of animals because we are capable of doing so. Even though animals are not able to talk or react, but they do have feelings as humans also, because animals are able to feel physical and psychological pain and suffering, we must live in ways that minimize what they are forced to endure. We are supposed to treat them with respect and love them like we do for ourselves. The neglect of domestic animals is wrong. They do not deserve to be treated inhumanly for no purpose, and domesticated animals defiantly deserve to have their owner treat them appropriately and take care of them. They should possess limited rights to being taken care of in a proper way. Animals of all types can feel pain and they are capable of suffering.

Do animals deserve rights? A very controversial topic yet a simple answer. Yes, animals deserve rights. I do believe that anything living and breathing does not deserve to be mistreated or wrongfully handled in any way. Some people may argue the fact that because animals do not have language there is no way of knowing how they feel. But in a sense animals were created just like us we are just more advance. When we feel pain we may cry out or say something, on the other hand an animal may squeal, or make noise. The point here is that if you are aware a creature feels pain almost the same way we do, they should not be unreasonably subjected to it. Therefore,we must begin to question current norms and practices which we know to be unethical based on this standard. Don't get me wrong eating animals is something the majority of people on this planet do. Also, Everyone who lives by the bible is told that animals were created to be eaten. Not only that, imagine a world where no body ate meat or any animal product. There would be an abundance of animals roaming around and the ratio of animals to humans would probably be outstanding high. Something else to keep in mind is Animals create offspring at an alarming rate, a rate that no human can keep up with. So bottom line consuming animals is part of the food chain. What we need to put an end to is the way these innocent animals are being abused to death then mutilated and slaughtered at this factors. From factories to homes, all over the world animals are being abused and tortured. Just because certain animals are ment to be eaten does not mean all animals can be treated disrespectfully.

Animals deserve some form of rights. However, I do not believe animals should have a full range of rights for several reasons. First, meat is a considerable part of the diet worldwide, and there are only a small number of cultures that completely dissociate themselves from meat. Although large amounts are considered harmful, humans benefit from a moderate amount for a healthy balance in our nutrition. So, I do not believe that the eating of animals is a violation of their rights because it is a part of nature – prey versus predator. Many think that since animals cannot speak or feel, they do not deserve the same rights that human beings are blessed with. But, I believe that animals deserve a quality of life that would be provided to them in the wild: freedom to roam, proper food, and a life without the growth from hormones that are often harmful to our health as well. There is no need to become a completely vegetarian society, but if we were to decrease the frequency in which meat is eaten, it would also aid in the animal rights debate.

For me animals deserve some rights, humans and animals both can think and feel. They both are sentient. Just as you would see a human cry, or a scream if it were hit, so you will see a dog cry of struck. Indeed, humans and animals are both sentient beings that can both feel pain and that both can feel suffering. But it is a fact is that humans require nutrients from animals to live healthily. Iron and protein are both provided in large quantities in meat, and are difficult to come by many other food groups. But is it wrong for us to eat meat to get this nutrient when there are other sources? Biblically speaking there’s nothing wrong. In Genesis, God gives Adam dominion over animals. In the Old Testament, God often requires an animal sacrifice in retribution for our sins. Jesus and his disciples on a regular basis are recorded as eating fish. There is nothing against eating meat anywhere in the Bible. Honestly when I eat meat, chicken or fish, I don’t think in the pain or in the suffering of the animals. I don’t like that people harm them or threat badly, also I hate when they used as animal testing in experiments they get hurt in the process.

The argument that animals feel no pain is just what I would expect to hear from a society and humans who’s only concern with their achievements and money. To say that animals feel no pain is to say you are missing your brain. I could care less about how many degrees or how smart the idiots that share that opinion feel. When you step on a dog the animal does not stay still as a statue and asks for more now does it? Not to mention accepting the idea of animals having rights and feeling pain is giving up the power to use them as test subjects and so losing money from all the research. And for anyone that would debate that thanks to this tests humans are finding cures to more deadly diseases and advancing in the medical field I would say screw it. We are as much of a species as any other living creature on this Earth. The worse part about prolonging life and finding cures to all this diseases is that humans have been nothing but parasites that only damage the planet every year. Not to mention even if the cures are found only the rich will obtain it and the poor will have to keep on suffering because that is the world we live in. Money rules it all!

When I eat meat, I do very little thinking about the actual animal I am eating. I try my best to simply think of it as meat to protect myself and make my eating habits simpler. I remember once when I was preparing to fry chicken I noticed the joints in the wings I was washing. It really creeped me out that I could move this joint just the same as my own joints move. I did not touch the wings I cooked later, but only at the strips, because they seemed less alive. Since then I have gotten over my fear of chicken wings, because I love them so much.
I do refuse to eat two kinds of meat, Foie Gras and Veal. The thought of force feeding animals and constricting their movement to keep the meat tender absolutely repulses me. I cannot fathom how people believe it is okay to do this to a fellow creature. When looking at pictures and videos of many of the factories where chicken, pigs and other livestock are produced (because those conditions cannot count for raising animals) I feel like I should refuse to eat those animals just the same as I do for Veal and Foire Gras.

Animals are very similar to human; some even say we came from animal. No facts has proved that nevertheless since animals have senses just like we, humans have, I think they deserve their right also. Giving them their right will not mean we won’t eat the ones we usually it but I think it is mainly mean that we should stop abusing them. Just like when someone do something bad to us it would hurt us I think most of us, those who abuse animals should think about this the effect how if we were the one they were abusing how we would feel. It’s true that most animals cannot speak but they have their own ways to express their feelings sometimes very similar to how we express ours. But we human pretend we do not understand them, and because of an over population we give them hormones so they could grow faster just to feed people without thinking that the animals should be able to multiply as they should be, that they should be able to take their time to feel free to cope with their species to multiply. Just as there are vegetarians and people have been eating meat from the beginning of time we cannot tell them to not eat meat, but what we all should know and tell them we should only use them for the right reason that we shouldn’t abuse them just cause we have some power over them.

Animals should have rights. The question is what is the limit of those rights? Who should set their rights? I think is unfair to kill animals without any good purpose (bullfighting, to use their skin or hunting only for fun). However; I could understand to kill animals for eating; I know that my comment could be controversial, but if we think avoid our survival we have the right to do it just as the animals do between each other when they are hungry or to survive. We are animals but the big difference is that we are able to reason because of that we are not judged as the animals do for acting instinctively. So even I agree with killing animals for eating, I don’t agree with the way that they are killed because if we are able to reason we can be able to avoid the pain in this animals, how? I don’t know but I am sure that doctor or/and scientists know it. So, answering the first questions, I think that the limit of the animal’s rights is the limit of our basic needs and those rights should be set by our reasoning, values and good feelings.

Since animals have no language, leading scientists argue that it is impossible to know when an animal is suffering. This situation may change as increasing numbers of chimps are taught sign language, although skeptics question whether their use of it portrays real understanding." I think people need to learn how to kill least animals and learn how to eat more health food.

Should animals have rights? No i do not believe that animals should have right. Reason i believe that animals should have rights, because if it wasn't for a certain animal, then we wouldn't have the virus we now know as HIV. As quick as you can train an animal, the animal can turn right around and turn on you. It's been proven because pitbulls do it. Some animals don't have any remorse for humans so why should have any remorse towards animals? As carnivores, humans eat animals all the time. Some may eat them without even thinking twice or wondering where did the animal come from or what has the animal been through. But it can also be the other way around. You have animals out there that are major carnivores. They eat each other and also have a hearty meal eating us humans as well. Yeah animals have feelings and they can sense danger and they can sense when we're hurting or in need of some attention and all that. But an animal has a lot of common sense. They wait till the perfect time to bite you, and/or feast on you. So no animals should not have rights! Yeah some animals help humans out, by guiding them here and guiding them there, but you rarely see those animals around. Ok, a dog does that yes, but I don't think you can find that else where. I mean, we're the perfect prey to animals, and animals are the perfect prey to humans. Hunting season, and the expression "It's a dog eat dog world" is a perfect example.

Should animals have rights? This has been a topic of conversation for a very long time. In my opinion, they should...to a certain extent. I do not believe in animal cruelty. What satisfaction can we as human beings get from torturing animals. There are sick people in the world that indulge in animal cruelty. I do however believe God created man to rule over the lands as well as animals. It is our human right to use animals for the nourishment of our bodies. I eat meat and I do not feel guilty about it. Would you feel guilty for killing an ant or rat? They are animals and do not have the same rights as monkeys, dolphins, or even pigs. It is the circle of life. So I guess you could say I am neutral. I don't believe in senseless torturing of animals but I do not disagree with killing animals as a means of food and nutrition for the body.

I believe that any living being that strives to survive has their rights. If they have the will to survive, that alone speaks for it self. Those who do not care for the suffering of animals are merciless, selfish, and cruel. Despite the fact that animals cannot speak, they feel. They can communicate amongst each other and show their feelings. If humans or animals are happy, sad, angry, etc… they express those feelings. So what is it that makes people feel as if they can mistreat animals as if it is not a problem? Animals deserve their rights. Rights meaning the right to survive in peace, as nature intended them to live. They do not need to speak in order to have these rights. A person who is mute and deaf has the right to live.
I am not one who eats meat often. To even think about the suffering animals go through to be produced like robots is unnatural and sickening. Animal products (meats) are filled with hormones, steroids, pesticides, antibiotics, microforms, mycotoxins, and saturated fats. These highly acidic toxic products are proven to cause diseases and cancers. Anatomically and physiologically humans are not meant to be carnivores nor omnivores. Our bodies are designed to digest slow absorptions of complex and stable plant foods and because of the fact that we almost always have to cook our meat in order to kill harmful parasites and microforms unlike real meat eaters. People usually think our only source of protein is meat but when in fact it is not. We CAN survive without the absorptions of meat. With that said, Americans can cut down their intake on meats, allowing the animals to grow organically and roam freely.

The topics of evolution, natural selection, and survival of the fittest reveal our main reasons for eating meat as a source of energy. However, I don’t think the issue is only linked to such topics. The concepts of tradition, culture and free will as a philosophical problem also come into account. Certain domesticated animals have created such an intimate bond with humans that they would never be considered a source of food. There are others that are considered so “unpleasant” despite their high protein content. It really goes beyond our need for food. A great deal of nurturing from society is well responsible for such rigid selectivity. We should also take a moment to realize we are also animals. Sharks, lions, and others have preyed on humans without even considering our right for life. From their point of view, do animals deserve rights? The reality is a well interconnected food chain which reveals our need for territory and food in order to survive, and preserve what each species considers to be most valuable: their genetic makeup.

Animals do have rights to a certain extent. If we humans believe we shouldn’t be tortured or mistreated why should they be treated like that? Because were more educated and sophisticated? So what if an alien race came and were more educated and sophisticated then us would it be okay for them to abuse of us. If that were the case all of us will come out crying what about our rights. What if you were gripping for your life due to pain being inflicted onto you while the alien disregards it because it doesn’t understand you. People need to put themselves in those shoes before being able to say how to treat anyone or whether they deserve rights. Once we do this, then we realize and change our perspective but if we view that everything that’s less intelligent then us is for our use then if one day another being more intelligent comes along we cant complain.

To be completely honest, I’m afraid of most animals that exist. From dogs to hamster and even lizards, so I can live without them. I think we should be really careful when it comes to animal rights because than we would have to treat all animals the same. We kill animals’ every day, so what rights do those animals have or do we pick and choose which animals we give special treatment to. I don't agree with abusing any living thing, and there should be consequences if it's done but where do we draw the line? I think every animal lover should be vegetarians because it’s contradictive. As soon as you bite into that piece of meat, guilt is supposed to hit you because that was an animal killed to become your meal. The animals don’t need rights, that doesn’t mean we abuse them, we’re taking this a little to far.

Animals definitely deserve rights! Of course the human race is the upper hand in the world, but as an additional species to this planet we should have some courtesy for them. It is inhumane that we abuse and mistreat these animals to these extreme extents. From being skinned alive at fur farms to the cramped cow mills, the human race has been neglecting these animals because of our dense population's desires. Humans care little of mother earth and one day will regret the abuse they have put on her. The difference between animals and us is the craving for more material objects that will allow everything to be faster and closer. As a dualist animals have minds and wisdom that should be preserved;therefore, rising the punishment for poaching and enlighten the human race- animals aren't just a product. They're living creatures that feel pain and acknowledge that this planet is also equally theirs. Since humans have rights, why not give and respect the rights of the animals.

I think that the fact that animals feel pain is non-negotiable. Any organism feels pain, and whether or not that being has the language to express that pain is irrelevant. Having said that, I don’t believe that is a proper argument for animal rights. Just because an individual feels pain does not necessarily mean it has any unalienable right, especially a right it would not understand. The only individuals interested in animal rights are humans, so it comes down to how much compassion one has for the animals. The animals cannot speak for themselves, so that leaves those who can to represent them, often through appeal to pathos or ethos. Who hasn’t watched the ASPCA commercials with the teary eyed puppies? Or heard about monkeys being used for research, and how cruel this is? Fact of the matter is, in cases of research or food, it comes down to the animals or us. Through animal research, we can exercise trial-and-error without risking human life, at the expense of the research animals. Furthermore, though factory farming may result in a less tasty or savory chicken, fact of the matter is that it is in part necessary due to the growing population, and that there are many more mouths to feed.

Animals have been alongside humanity since life took its first steps; therefore, it is our solemn duty, as a civilized race, to protect their rights. Just because we cannot, or rather choose not to acknowledge the fact that they feel pain, we can’t deny them their rights, after all they are more than just a good steak or a cute accessory for our designer bags; animals provide man kind in the areas of labor, they are loyal creatures capable of feeling almost every human emotion, they are part of this world as much as we are, they only take what they need and do not take advantage of what nature provides for them. Animals are extraordinary creatures, if we could communicate with them in a more efficient way, we could learn a thing or two. It doesn’t take an expert to see the harmony in which they live in, respecting their environment and the world they live in. They were born to roam freely, not to be in a caged or I a slaughter house. We need to stop animal abuse and fight for their rights. JULIO RECONCO

Do animals deserve right? I think it depend on the situation because not all animals are good. I think there should be a limit to how much animals deserve right because in some case we do need animals help to survive in this world. Animals have feeling just as human do because there are able to express their feeling with sound and their action just like a human being would. Even those we eat animals, that doesn’t mean you have the right to mistreat them and injected them with drug. Killing animals for fun is a serious matter because why would you kill them just to make material out of their skin? Do you ever stop and think that what you did is a serious crime that you as a human being just did? I can bet that’s a no, right because in your mind, animals doesn’t deserve right. But, animals actually do deserve right; just because animals doesn’t speak, or doesn’t communicate the way human does that’s don’t mean nothing. Human just making excuse just to torture something that they have complete power over and that of course is the innocent animals that are being in pain.

Clearly I understand what many of the animals we eat have been put through before finally reaching our plate. If we lived with the mentality that animals are going to die anyway so why not mistreat them, then we don't deserve to get treated any better through our lives either. People live day by day with freedom even though we all know that sooner or later one day we'll all day. Then why not give animals that same respect? There have been occasions where I think about what that chicken or that cow that I had for lunch had to go through before actually being killed. If we're going to kill animals for our own survival, the least we can do is have them live a peaceful and rightful time during their life span.

When I really sit and think I really don’t think about animal’s rights, but more like dogs rights, for the simple fact it is the only animal I truly care about. Even though I really don’t think about animal’s rights I believe they should still have rights in my eyes. They are human’s to me, so instead of saying animal rights we should say animal human rights. Animals have minds, bodies and souls just like us humans. The only difference is most animals walk on all four legs and we as people walk on two legs, but before we learned to walk we were basically like them on all four. It is funny how people don’t exam these situations until they are reading a news article or biography on the problem. I’m that person I can admit I do it, and after reading then my whole aspect changes toward the situation. We say animals should have rights and should not be killed. How do you expect us to gain our protein? Meat is where we get our protein and that’s where we contradict ourselves with animal rights. I would have to say I’m bias towards this type of condition even though there are other ways to gain protein I don’t think I could never give up all meats. Who is to say they will ever get rights, I believe they won’t even though they should. When you look at it the animal population might be too high.

I agree that animals should have animal rights but to a certain extent. When eating meat I really try not to think about where it come from I just enjoy it. Like most countries the meat we eat from cows, pigs, chicken, and goats are raise from there were small until they reach certain size then they kill them. Farming was is understandable but other situations I believe rights should be enforce. I believe every animal is unique and have something special about them which a lot of people study and care about. We as humans harm animals for no good reason turning species extent and even destroying their ecosystem. Animals share the same feelings we do when in pain and also intelligent. There many countries around the world with it own beauty of species but sadly its occupied by humans who do senseless killings just to benefit themselves.

I believe animals should have rights. Animals feel pain just like human feel pain. Many people might argue the fact that because animals do not have language there is no way of knowing how they feel. I believe that testing on animals for thing such as cosmetics is wrong. I believe that if it's medical research that benefits the greater good, then it is okay. I think it okay to use animals as food to nourish the human body. It’s wrong to torture and kill animals for clothing. West Hollywood, California is now the first city in the United States, and possibly the world, to ban the sale of fur. I think that it's mean to be cruel to animals because they are also living things and are a part of this world. They understand and feel how it is to be hurt. People shouldn't hurt animals' feelings or be mean because they understand what the person is trying to do. When I eat meat, I do very little thinking about the actual animal I am eating because if I think about it , I will feel guilty about eating meat.

It is impossible to conclusively prove inadequate or no discussion of the principle of animal rights, as are ignoring many of the so-called humanitarian, ignore the immense importance of the underlying theme of food. We need not worry much about the origin of meat-eating habit. Now admittedly, I think, it is difficult to recognize and affirm a consistent manner the rights of an animal that we intend to make feast, difficulties have been overcome at all satisfactorily, those moralists who, while accept the practice of eating meat as an institution that is beyond all criticism, have been eager to find a solid basis for a theory of humanitarian status. "Strange contradiction of conduct", says the Chinese Philosopher Goldsmith on this dilemma. The reform of the diet will certainly slow, and in the case of many individuals is fraught with difficulties and setbacks. But if we can live without consuming meat why not try ?
