Gratitude is one of the strongest emotion a human being could bring upon. It is so powerful that just by changing the attitude to become thankful for what you have can change your whole life. Being grateful for what we got, cherish everything that we have is one thing I’ve learned to practice in life. I started seeing things in positive aspect and started to appreciate the little things that I have. I learnt that when I end up in a bad situation, there will always be someone, somewhere in the world who is suffering in a far worst situation than mine. So I shift my attitude and start thinking about what I HAVE rather than what I DON’T HAVE. That made me happy and appreciate the face that I have roof over my head, food on my table, water to drink. When you start living with gratitude, you will realize how much happier life could be.
From my perspective gratitude is what make a person enjoy and appreciate her or his life as it is, as a gift. Research has shown that those individuals who take the time to appreciate and focus on things for which they are grateful are likely to have increased well-being. In the other hand, people who are not really aware about those things are likely to be in anger or mad most of the time. The difference comes out because those individuals that are grateful tend to take stress or critical situation as little things easily to handle and they don’t maximize them. In the opposite, people who get anger easily and continuously are those who suffer from illness related with stress such as heart diseases. Obviously, there is a strong relationship between gratitude and the life style that a person can have, since gratefulness, indirectly, bring a more peaceful life-style which end in improvement in health and in a connection with our own self.
Gratitude is a remedy for hatred, greed, malice and the such. In today society, we care only for ourselves, but yet, we want peace to embrace this world of our. But how can we if we are solving our problems with violence and wars ? Gratitude can change us by loving one another, caring for others , not using others as means to end, but as ends. It helps change your attitude in hostile situations rather than being hostile and rude; you're relaxed and patient. Gratitude also helps you to appreciate what you have in life. Constantly complaining about what you don't have isn't a trait of gratitude but selfishness. I believe that gratitude is a virtue. Without it we're just in-considered, emotionless, and troubled creatures. Without gratitude, love is absent and without gratitude and love, peace is far from our reach.
Gratitude is a very broad term and can actually imply many different things. Being thankful and appreciating any favor or whatever positive outcome that is given to you. In my opinion, being a person with gratitude is something that born with you and later on you develop it. It actually helps to determine different parts of personality, like it is said in the New York Post article, it is actually proven that gratitude helps you to have a better life style and a better and more positive attitude toward life in general and any positive and even negative outcome in life, because if you are thankful for what you have and appreciate the positive differences that different persons make in your life, there will always be someone there to help you. It also helps improve a person’s health. So, yes, gratitude is something we should start developing more as we grow up.
In reality, people can show their gratitude toward certain things but doesn't mean how it should be at all.gratitude shouldn't just be to appreciate what someone did forq your or else, but should be considerate through out your all life. Anyway whatever good thing that happen to us, we should not only appreciate but make sure we do the same for someone else. It just funny to see how some people don't even have that kind of attitude after something good was done for them. Shame on them
gratitude is something that comes natural to people. if someone opens the door for you then your natural reaction is to say thank you just like when someone blesses you after you sneeze you don't know why you do it but its automatic. when people do those things i don't question what their intentions are i just accept it and move on. saying thank you is easy and we never really stop to think why it is we do it i say thank you every time someone helps me out its just the right thing to do. one time some random guy stopped me from putting my foot on some dog poo just because he was a nice guy and i was grateful to him and he went on his way and i went on mine he didn't expect anything from me and i felt gratitude towards that person. gratitude is felt all the time, the article is right you don't have to pay someone back. if u do then you would be even with that person and the gratitude you felt changes into a feeling of accomplishment and it comes off a little selfish
Gratuity is the feeling of being grateful or thankful. Being gracious is not something that is automatic, it is learned. One is taught from when they are young to say please and thank you. Growing up people are conditioned to open doors for others, be polite, and be gracious. Learning to have gratitude and to be a gracious person, I believe, builds character. One's personality is not solely based on gratuity, but may be a big part of someones aspects. When one is a gracious person, then their gratitude comes naturally. They are happy, considerate, thankful people, who enjoy their life. People learn to live life to the fullest, or just the best way they can, and that makes them happy. I believe that when you are happy, having gratitude is something easy to come by.
Gratitude is an emotion that I think could change the world if everyone partook in it. It seems to me that nowadays people only care about themselves and what benefits them. Gratitude is an emotion that should be taught to everyone. A lot of us are taught at a young age to open doors for others and to say bless you when someone sneezes. The downturn is that for a lot of us that’s where it ends. If we could apply this concept to our lives we would be much better people. If we went through our day treating everyone around us as people we should treat people in ways that do not directly benefit us then society would be a much better place. I believe that this emotion is what single handily makes “good” people. People who do things simply for that of pleasing others unwillingly.
Gratitude, “It’s an equal-opportunity emotion. Anyone can experience it and benefit from it." On the other hand many people seem to walk the other way when it comes to it, Why? What do we have to lose by showing gratitude, even to those that have done us wrong. I believe that everyone has the right to do as they please. As for me I was always thought to do the right thing no matter what and be grateful for whatever I have. Which is one of the reasons why I smile a lot. Life is to short to let ungrateful people interfere with your own contentment.
Gratitude means thankfulness, counting your blessings, noticing simple pleasures, and acknowledging everything that you receive. It means learning to live your life as if everything were a miracle, and being aware on a continuous basis of how much you’ve been given. Gratitude changes your focus from what your life lacks to the abundance that is already present. In addition, psychological research has shown the surprising life improvements that come from the practice of gratitude. Giving thanks makes people happier and more resilient, it strengthens relationships, it improves health, and it reduces stress. So always be grateful for what you have and theres nothing wrong with wanting more just don't take any of it for granted, be grateful.
Gratitude focuses our attention on the good things in life. It takes our blessings and multiplies them. When we appreciate what we have, it opens our hearts and allows us to experience more love. Gratitude is our thankfulness in action. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It is a living expression of how connected we are with everything around us. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, or an enemy into a friend. If everyone would live with gratitude, everyone would be living a happier life.
Gratitude is an emotion that I believe we as humans should show more often.Gratitude is not only needed when someone does something nice for you or vice versa. The generation today shows none or little gratitude towards anything, simply because they may feel as if its owed to them. The smallest things should be shown gratituity for example, someone saying "bless you" after you sneeze.Gratitude helps you live a more stress free and happy life.Being grateful for what you have is what's important not what you could of had.I'm grateful for everything I have in mylife because somewhere there is someone who has it a lot worst.

People show their Gratitude in different ways some show less and others more,is a very unique positive emotion that humans have.Gratitude may also serve to reinforce future prosocial behavior in benefactors, there are several factors that could affect individuals’ gratitude level such as society, religion, culture. When we focus on the abundance in our lives, we discover a greater capacity for generosity, cheerfulness, and contentment. Expressing gratitude is a rewarding habit that affirms the grace of the giver. Gratitude opens our hearts, encourages us to savor each gift that comes our way, and magically frees us from jealously guarding our possessions.
Life is all about perception. We choose to see something a certain way based on particular circumstances and influences. It is important to appreciate what you have, because innately as humans sometimes we always want more. We cannot feed that instinctual feeling, we have to control it. Now that of course, is easier said than done. Although by acknowledging the value of your possessions, and by possessions I mean everything you have including health, wealth, and well being. Taking notice of the small things in life will make you realize how good you have it. For example, waking up in the morning with a glass of orange juice, some nice music in your ears as you wait for the bus, can be such an enjoyable experience. You realize how good you have it, to wake up in a peaceful beautiful city, with all the nutrition you need, heading to school to get an education and ensure your future. Just those small thoughts can put you in the greatest mood. That gratitude feels so good it must be healthy. And everyone knows the harmful effects of stress, so healthy perception is good and necessary for us
Just like the picture shows, people spend more time complaining instead of being grateful for what they have. People who are ungrateful believe that what they have is not good enough, so they want more. They are not truly happy because they don’t feel satisfied with what they already have. This is why people become greedy. Being grateful causes people to not only think of themselves, but of others too. Instead of feeling the need of returning all the favors we receive, we should just be thankful for them. That is what gratitude is all about. Being grateful helps us have a more positive outlook on life since we can appreciate things more.
Gratitude. The definition: “The quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness”. It seems like these days, most people only do good deeds just to make use of the situation and benefit from it. So some people, like myself, feel when it comes to helping or favors, that people take advantage of it, which is true in way; to be misused/overused. Then the same appreciation is not return by the person who asked for it or better yet, they help just so they can hold it against you. Yet, I cant let myself turn into a person who will not help another just because of past situations. If I offer help, my influence can influence another to do just as well. I also make sure I am grateful for something that a person has done for me. If people participate in becoming more grateful, then the world wouldn’t seem so hard.
I think graditude is something so wonderful that a person can have. It shows how kind and sweet people can be. I love when people show gratitude around me.It makes me smile and feel happy; it makes my day. People should have some respect for people that have gratitude, but actually everyone should have gratitude. Just a simple hello can make someones day, and turn someone frown up side down. Its a great feeling and I believe that some people just have that special gift not everyone has gratitude. Gratitude is a true virtue!
“Where there is gratitude, there is courtesy; there is a concern for the happiness and well-being of others.” Gratitude or appreciation is a sincere appreciation for the benefits or help that one has received. Gratitude helps us build humility; it allows us to recognize an act of kindness, service, or caring from someone else. It is important to be grateful for what someone does for us; it lets us look beyond ourselves and it allows us to be the one to help someone else out of pure sincerity. Being a grateful person can make one a truly happy person; it can also make one’s life more meaningful. Not everyone in this world is born with the same resources and advantages in life; some will always be a disadvantage. If one focuses only on the negative things that happen to them, they may not be very happy about their lives. Being grateful for the things that you do have allows you to be satisfied and content with the things that you do have, permitting you to become a truly happy person.
I am strong believer that gratitude is what binds people together. The receiver will feel a certain connection towards the person displaying gratitude. What we do not want to do is hold expectations from people when we do something for them. We have to have the true desire to comply with another person and lend a helping hand when needed. I think that sometimes people tend to demand to much from others and gratitude is soon lost in the relationship. I don’t believe one can hold a relationship with another human being without gratitude. If you don’t have gratitude you don’t show any appreciation nor interest. It is a mutual win-win situation. People need to start appreciating those who are our neighbors and comrades in this world and understand that we are all here together. We have to have a more positive perspective and embrace all the things we have. I, personally, find myself sometimes being ungrateful for things and realize that I am sad. Maybe being grateful will bring happiness. I guess I’ll spend a lifetime trying to find out.
Gratitude is a great thing but it can also be used in a malevolent way. Nowadays people don't normally do anything out of the kidness of their heart, people are always looking for self benefit. While selfish gratitude leads to remorse, anger, and feeling trapped by a responsibility it can also be a good thing when it comes out of a sincere place. When we do something for the benefit of somebody rather than ourselves then it is honest and noble so the gratitude people feel is honest and noble as well, but when we do something in order to benefit only ourselves that gratitude turns into a dependence or a chore to be done. people will always miscrontrude gratitude with selfishness but when an action is done sincerly and honest then gratitude will be sincere and create a stronger and longer lasting bond between both people.
My opinion is that having gratitude is a virtue. Not everyone can be described as having that personality trait. Yes, it’s very hard today to find someone that is thankful, loving life and others. If you have gratitude for being alive, having a family and friends that love you will be living a happy life. And if you share that gratitude with your neighbor’s or people you see on the streets every day, people might see and they will get a lesson from you, then they would act that way towards others and the world would be changing to become a better place. A world filled with people that are thankful for being alive and cherishing every moment they are with their loved ones. It shows those people live longer and happier. I personally wish I had the will power to have a little more gratitude. Now a day’s people don’t mean when they say thank you, or help others, it has become a habit. We need to look back and not regret anything so we might want to change and live virtuous lives.
I feel like gratitude should be something that is easy to feel. It's really hard to believe that there are so many aggressive, unappreciative people that can't feel this emotion. My life is guided by empathy. I guess that is why it is easy for me to understand why gratitude is so important in our lives because I understand how important it is for the other person to know how grateful I am for anything they have done for me. I believe it is a maturity issue; as you grow older you start appreciating things more and more as you go through hardships. However some people just go their whole life taking advantage of everyone around then and never feeling gratitude or giving thanks for what they have. That's fine, I find that those are some of the most miserable people that walk this earth. I would have to agree with what the Psychologists approach from the New York Times said, that feeling gratitude helps you be less aggressive and live a much happier life. My life is a testament to it, as the more I grow older, the more I appreciate what people have done for me, and I'm happier now than I ever have been in my life.
Gratitude is an emotion that a person needs to feel content in life. People have to be appreciation for others and what they have done for them. If you're an egoist then you can not feel gratitude towards others. This emotions is HUMAN. "There is no such thing as gratitude unexpressed. If it is unexpressed, it is plain, old-fashioned ingratitude". ~Robert Brault. In this quote one must express their gratitude towards other. You must be thankful to other and what you have. That's a part of like and a part of being human.
Gratitude, it is something i think is dying in society at the moment. There seems to have been shifts in people's beliefs and in turn has bred some people that are ungrateful and selfish. It is rare to find someone that will go out of their way to do things so others can even feel grateful. While that is my current belief, i do think that it is something important to have. Through gratitude many doors open and there can only be positives. I believe it makes people happier, both the giver and receiver and definitely makes the world a better place. There just needs to be more people that engage in benevolent acts so that we can acknowledge their accomplishment and in turn show the proper gratitude.
