In order to change this, more teachers, parents and student need to be aware of it. How can you fix something if you don't even know it's there? As far as in the classroom the teachers can pull students aside and tell them where their reading level stands. I would think these children would be embarrassed and ashamed of their level of intelligence. Next, send a letter to their parents about it. Make extra reading assignments. Why do teachers only stick to the curriculum. Sometimes you need to go above and beyond. The same thing goes at home, stop being so lieniet with your children, push them harder, in a loving way so that they don't retaliate and do the opposite of what you ask. Show them what positives and also negative can come from applying yourself. Parents should show by example. Teenagers have their own role models, some good and some bad.

It seems to me that politicians are quite adept at lying. When they happen to get caught they blame someone else or claim that they were misunderstood. The problem with this is that they get away with it. Every time they do they are empowered to do it again. Producing ‘factual mistakes,’ in order to gather followers, is a time proven technique. Some of these lies may not be intentional, they might honestly believe what they are saying is the truth, but ignorance is no excuse. Politicians are chosen by voters to represent them, to lead and make decisions that affect our entire nation. Lies should not be taken lightly. Some lies may be more intense than others, such as lying about murdering someone as opposed to lying about taking the last cookie, but both equally tarnish your character in my opinion. To blatantly tell a lie for your own self interest shows a lack of morality, this should be a key factor when you are a leader.
I was reading an article on the latest Republican debate which highlighted several lies that were told by Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. Romney claimed the Navy fleet is currently the smallest it has been since 1917, which is untrue. He also got the cost of the federal health care law incorrect, as well as the number of jobs it created, saying it would cost a trillion dollars to be added to the deficit. Earlier this month at another debate he stated that it would cost 95 billion. Both of these figures are in contrast to what experts in the field say, which is that it will reduce the deficit by 119billion in the next seven years. Romney left that part out. Gingrich had his own folly when he claimed that when he was speaker of the House he presided over four years of balanced budgets, but two of those years occurred when he had resigned as was no longer speaker. You would think someone would remember something as important as that. I bring up the debate because it is a common highlight of politicians skewing facts and trying to convince the masses to vote for them. Sadly they continue to get away with it.
Part of the reason why politicians are likely to get away with lying is that the general population is content with accepting their word. They do no fact checking and rely on what they hear to determine what they believe is fact. This can be because they believe our leaders are trustworthy, and leaders should not be questioned, which I find to be a very terrifying thought. Those who do not question authority are but sheep to be led to the slaughter. They find comfort in accepting life as it is, and allow politics to continue to become a dishonest institution as they turn a blind eye. Not all politicians are dishonest, but if we allow those who are to roam the playing field it is inevitable they will spread their corruption. We must not allow others to decide how we think; we must seek the truth no matter what the cost.

I think by now, we can all know that the majority of the politicians lie. Their campaigns and their promises are just a show so they can win an election. The trick is to tell the public what they want to hear. Lying is now required for most politicians, not only to win an election but also to keep an image so the people can keep following them.
I try not to be too involved when in comes to politics. Since I believe that they are not trust worthy. If I have to vote, I will just try to pick one who I think might do a decent job and hope for the best. It is like gambling, I will never know the true intentions behind that person, so I can never make a decision that I will feel confident.
I wish things will change, but I don’t see that ever happening. I don’t think there is much we can do.
When I stop to think about it, nothing comes to mind. Most of the ideas or solutions are just time consuming.

Politicians lie because it gives them an advantage in whatever argument they are trying to win. We believe them because we may morally agree with them in their argument, or we may just be a supporter or fan of theirs. Take for example the argument over abortion. If you have an opinion you're either for or against abortion. If you believe so strongly that abortion is wrong and immoral then you will believe any statement that is in agreement with your beliefs. Take for example Arizona Senator Jon Kyl, who claimed while speaking on the Senate floor that “90% of what planned parenthood does if perform abortions”. Planned parenthood responded that “only 3% of its services were abortion related”. Kyl’s office later released a statement that “It was not intended to be a factual statement”, in other words, it was intended to be a lie. Why is this practiced and accepted in politics? Because the Senator knows that a large number of his votes come from religious conservatives who eat, sleep, and crap the fight for anti abortion laws and he needs those votes to keep his status in whatever little universe he lives in. Without them he possibly loses his Senate seat, then his ego goes bye bye, and without him, the voters have no one to fight their fight for their beliefs. It seems like a creepy way for them to stroke each other regardless of what the facts are. We believe this, so as long as this politician is spewing anti rhetoric for whatever it is then I will vote for him. We don’t need facts, we just need random statements that support our beliefs.

Did anyone really believe that Bill Clinton did not have sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky? I believed he was lying 100%, but it didn’t bother me because I’m a registered democrat and I voted for him. So the guy cheated on his wife, big deal, happens to millions of married couples everyday, that’s some of the justifications I would tell myself. Take George Bush who lied to the American people about weapons of mass destruction being in Iraq. I think this was one of the most egregious lies ever put upon the American people and that those involved should be punished. Now, I understand the difference and depth of these two lies, one is about having sex with an intern, and one is about starting a war with another country, I get it. But, I’m willing to accept one and not the other because of who I like and dislike.

Politicians should be judged like our sports icons. Look at the baseball players who were taking steroids, those who came clean about their cheating, Alex Rodriguez, Andy Petite, Jason Giambi, etc... nothing came of these guys, they told the truth and moved on. Take on the other hand Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds, they both lied through their teeth, allegedly, and are facing Congressional investigations for lying. Seems like a double standard. “Why didn’t you lie to me... Because I wanted to be honest in our relationship...You should try lying for a change, it’s the currency of the world” Jude Law and Julia Roberts from the film Closer.

In my opinion we are all guilty of lying, and who ever said he/she has never lied is a liar. Politicians will do whatever it takes to get votes even if it means that the politician has to lie. I mean when was the last time a politician got elected and actually did everything that was promised. The candidate may make promises before getting elected. The candidate may have the best of intentions, but remember to pass a law it must pass through congress and the senate. It is not that easy to pass a law, debating, voting, commission review is involved. So if the candidate that you voted for gets elected don’t expect to see the promises being fulfilled so easily.
Politicians make a lie seem so credible that it makes me think that in order to be a politician one should be a sociopath. I mean they lie with no remorse they will look at you straight in the eye and lie. In my opinion most politicians get into politics to gain power. I always ask myself why is it that at the end of a politician’s term they come out richer then when they started. One could think that politics is for people wanting power, money and at the end they end up acquiring all these things through lies.
I mean throughout history we have had controversial political lies. Like when Nixon was trying to cover for the Watergate scandal. Politics and lying dates back to ancient Greece so this should not be a shocker. I don’t expect a change if anything I expect even more lies. Know in days our government is run by money. For sure the candidate with the most money will be the one to get elected. Lying is just not good but politics equals lies the thing is that politician know how to use words. The worst part is that we as Americans do not do anything about these lies. We are being manipulated and deceived and we don’t do anything. We just vote for the candidate that belongs in your party.
I love watching these republican debates one hears many promises and many lies. We all know that most of these promises are not going to get fulfilled. I think as Americans we should not tolerate these lies, because at the end we are all searching for the truth. I did a little research on political lies and I found that presidents of the United States have a long history of lying. So really we are all blind to really know what the politician is about. My opinion is that not all politicians want to lie. The problem is when his opponent starts telling lies. That’s when the candidate has to back fire. Most of us already know that politicians lie so at the end of the day we just go with our gut instinct when it comes to voting.

When politicians lie under oath intentionally, they do it because it is convenient for them. It is convenient for them because we, the rest of the people, tend to believe them. And we tend to believe them because this lie is probably closer to whatever we want to believe (or at least it is more likely to be closer than the truth). When one hears something that one wants to believe, one feels the desire to hold on to that idea. It is a pretty simple and straightforward explanation that sums up to an elemental phrase: One believes whatever one wants to believe.
It is understandable that an individual with a position in which his opinion towards something represents a larger group of people (in this case referring to a politician, and only a politician) might want to lie in order to maintain its reputation and/or bring smiles in people’s faces.
I am not supporting the politicians on lying, it’s just that it is a very delicate situation. Now, what can we do for truth to prevail? It is a very hard question to answer. I could say that we have to find the way to prove politicians that we are looking for truth. That truth is what matters the most. And the hardest thing of all: Politicians have to start worrying more about the people and less about them. Because they are representing the people, and they must act like it. A liar must not represent the nation.

I believe politicians get away with lying all the time, but there is really no one there to stop them. They lie because they want to win the elections so they say what we want to hear. Also as a form to get our votes for them. Can you imagine a politician that wouldn't lie, he wouldn't get elected. I think people are scared to hear the truth sometimes and would prefer the lie. I believe that this is happing because we are allowing it to happen. This lie are becoming frauds and we are allowing it to happen, because we are being easily fooled. And the politicians are getting away with lie each day more and more, there should be negative consequences and punishment for them. Until then they are still going to lie and we are going to keep on believing on what they tell us.

Political lies are as ubiquitous and prolific as fast-food restaurants in this country. It is something that will never completely be eradicated because it works. Lying is (in regards to political speaking) a method of persuasion. If the goal of a politician is to persuade the people into jumping in their boat, then lying is the cheapest, quickest, and most effective way to gather them up by the yacht-loads.

The most common type of lie that I have seen in politics is the evasive non-answer. This technique is quite brilliant, for it allows the speaker to dodge a question and not really lie, which is probably why this style is so prevalent. This method is not only used in politics, but also in religion and business. For example, try to find out what the Pope's stance was regarding the Iraq war. After reading his statement you will be so confounded you will have forgotten the original question, I assure you.

How should we deal with lies and evasions from politicians? By watching and listening closely, paying attention to body language and facial expressions, and by actually giving our attention to politics, occasionally. If more intelligent, logic-minded individuals got involved in the political scene by voicing their opinions, then perhaps some positive change would take place. Until that time, stay tuned for the fallacy feast.

Most politicians lie because they want power and want to get elected; telling people what they want to hear is just how they get it. We believe them because we are deceived by what they say. Not only that but we also want to believe them. When politicians state their views and promises to the people, we don’t really know whether they’re lying or not. It’s only after they’ve been elected and have not done what they promise that we realize they’re liars.
We think that when they say something like “I’ll give amnesty to all immigrants in this country” or “I’ll bring our troops home” then they will really accomplish that because they are in a position where they have power. There’s a slight chance that whatever they say is true, and their intentions are what they say. We give our votes to that slight chance believing it will come true but rant about them 4 years later because it isn’t so.
We can’t expect these politicians to change because we can’t change ourselves. As long as we believe their lies, they will keep feeding us those false tales that basically manipulate this country.

Politicians lie sometimes because they think that they can get away with it. Our people have voted for these politicians because we believe that each one of them are perfect for the job and is going to make the right decision. In my opinion is that a politician that lies should not be trusted. If they are uncertain about the information they are presenting to the public then it shouldnt be said. Politicians know that there every move is being watch and people are waiting for their down fall. And because of this they say and talk about what people want to hear. People want to hear the truth and a politicians captivating words will be said according to what the people want to hear, even if it turns out to be an exaggeration. Some politicians may not know that the information is true like Colin Powers with weapons of mass destruction but who knows wether he really knew or not. A lie is a lie and as far as the truth people with little knowledge of it sometimes think or believe what they are saying is true but instead is a lie because they dont know better or dont know the truth. What constitutes a truth or lie? The truth can be a lie sometimes.

Most politicians lie because they can and will always get away with it. It is hard for us to discern the truth when they are making promises for change once they get into office. We don’t realize their dishonesty until no changes have been made and that all the rhetoric spoken was an indeed a farce.

In addition, when talking about the deceit of politicians in government, it’s not just the politicians that are to blame but the people that are affiliated with them. Politicians will feed information to the media and their staff and their barrage of lies will be accepted because it is being brought to us by a reliable source. Until we start demanding more accountability, and faster response time to our issues, they will conveniently lie until they get elected, or if in office, their term expires.

In my opinion as people, we deserve the truth from politicians. Many people in politics it seems try to save face constantly and in the process end up hurting their reputation more. They say what it takes to please everyone and in reality this is close to impossible. We aren't looking for someone heaven sent because everyone makes mistakes but if you're into politics i think you should be truthful and ethical when dealing any and every situation. I do not think we should settle for anything less than the truth from politicians. Essentially everyone is looking for a better life for themselves, for their families, and overall a better quality of life. We put all these major decisions in the hands of these politicians, and i think they should honor that privilege to make a difference in our society, and the world. There are many different forms of lying and i think some lies are forgivable. If one lies because they were given false information and they essentially were deceived themselves, is forgivable. In this situation particularly because they were not intentionally telling a lie. This lie is still wrong because you should never pass on information unless its from a reliable source and unless you know it is a fact. So therefore it is wrong but forgivable. An example of an unforgivable lie is when former president Clinton told the public he had no sexual relations with a woman other than his wife when in fact he did. He lied because he thought he would get away with it and he lied to save face. When everyone had found out he lied, he was not only a liar but he was looked upon as less of a man because he did something wrong and deceitful but like a child tried to cover it up and not face it. If a politician can lie about things in their personal life, what else would they lie about? where and what is crossing the line? what won't they lie about? These are questions we're faced with these days when we have bigger issues at hand. Like how do we save our drowning economy? How do we make this world a better place to live for ourselves, and essentially our kids who will soon become the future of the world?

In today's society politics and lying have become one and the same. Politicians lie and the public knowingly or unknowingly accepts it, while electing them as leaders. While lying is morally wrong, many do it for many different reasons. One who lies for his/her own selfish gains should not have the opportunity to lead anyone because he/she would only have everyone else best interest at heart when it's convenient for themselves. However, politicians are not fully at fault for the deceit or omissions they may mislead the public with. Half the reason why there are lies in politics is because the public have grown to except the knowlegde that politicians do lie. Many people want to believe in something or someone greater then themselves that they would willingly believe anything a politician says. It would not be important for them to check for facts and background information because if that person in a higher position says it, "it has to be true". The fact that politicians know and understand this realization only makes lying a more part of the American way of leadership. In a perfect world politicians who lie would be called out on his/her false truth, then puinshed for decieving millions of followers. However, this is not a perfect world, politics lie to give their audiences what they want, while obtaining what he/she wants. Many people do not want to challenge an authority figure for fear of the outcome, so most people go along to get along. While this is happening millions of people continue to live in a world of lies just to protect their comfort zone.

There is absolutely no doubt that lying has played a major part in politics. There is also no doubt that we have to some how put an end to it. This is much easier said than done and I in no way can suggest a way of accomplishing this completely, but we can start by holding politicians accountable for the things they say and do. The three examples that were discussed are three very different cases of lying in the political realm. Al Gore was engaging in complete hyperbole when he spoke about the Internet. The origin of the Internet has its roots in something called the ARPANET that was being used in the 1970’s, much before Al Gore even sniffed public office. Colin Powell was in a difficult situation because he basically was passing along information that he believed to be true. What scares me about this particular scenario is that it means all of these guys are lying to each other to advance their own personal agendas. If they will lie to each other there is no way we, the general public, are getting the truth. The Clinton case is the one where I feel the politician got away with the most. President Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives on charges of Perjury and Obstruction of Justice. These are very serious federal offenses that are often punishable by time in jail. However, Bill Clinton was not even ousted from office. He finished his last term and didn’t spend any time in jail. I’m not here to say we should imprison Bill Clinton, but there is no consistency when it comes to matters like these in our country. It is no wonder politicians nowadays lie because even when you get caught, there really aren’t any significant consequences. Bill Clinton is still a darling of the Democratic Party. This lying happens all the time and politicians will continue to get away with it under this system. As one of the debaters pointed out it has much to do with party affiliation. As long as a voter’s party is “winning” their guys can do no wrong. We need to reform this process. This isn’t a game where you’ll let your teammate get away with cheating if it meant a victory for your team. Peoples lives are affected by all of this and it has to be taken more seriously.

When election time comes along, voters have a hard time on deciding for who to vote. This is because they don’t know who to believe. It seems like politicians are if not always most of the time lying. Why is this happening so easily and why do politicians lie? I think that they lie and give deceiving speeches because if they don’t hide the truth or change it at least a little bit, they might have very little chance of winning. Because let’s face it, although we condemn these lies, we don’t really want to see the whole truth. However, sometimes politicians go beyond, and their lies provoke wars, for instance. I think that politicians don’t care anymore about what is truth or not. They are willing to go anywhere in order to win. It seems like this cannot be changed and maybe that’s the truth. But shouldn’t we try to do something about it? Shouldn’t we start facing reality instead of running away from it? Shouldn’t the change begins within the voters and perhaps get eventually to the government? I am saying this because it looks like the change will hardly start within politicians who are even more deceived than we are.

Politicians lie because people allow them to lie and get away with it. It seems that people either have short memories or pretend at times to either not care or simply look the other way. Also, politicians have become experts in twisting the truth and the newspapers or tv stations make a joke about what is said. for example the press at times use truth meters or other tools to see if the politicians are telling the truth or twisting the truth or simply just telling a lie. Now, if the question is why do they lie its because they sometimes tell people what the people want to hear in order to get their votes. Also, people in NY want to hear some position on a topic while people in Texas want to hear a different answer. Politicians only want to get elected and power its sad but it seems that is all they are interested in.

Brittany Lamb said...

I believe the reasons why politicians lie is because if they told the truth no one would vote for that candidate. People want to hear what they want to hear regardless if it is the truth or not. When two candidates are running neck and neck for a chance to become the United States president, the candidate who tells a lie rather than the truth will most likely win the election. In a perfect world, politicians wouldn’t lie but it also comes down to the people who are voting as well. If you elect a politician who lies constantly over those who tell the truth then we the people shouldn’t be surprised when are economy is the way it is right now. I think the people should really pay attention to what a politician has to bring to the table and how he or she is going to get the job done without lying.

Politics as well as most things in life are nothing but a game, just like an ultimate race to get to that highest point were "we" have success, power, and money. Politicians lie, everyone lies and there is nothing that we can do to make someone else not lie. We have no control over what another person can say, will say, or do. We will be told what we want to hear and candidates will get what they want. Unless there was a device that can tell if politicians are being truthful or not, giving them the benefit of the doubt is what voters can do. Lying has been in the government for years and it will either get better or worse. Identifying the types of lies is important so they are not judged, as the first debater said, "distinguish between lies and honest mistakes". We are humans and make mistakes which can be forgiven but only when done unintentionally, in some cases politicians do it with the wrong intentions and only to benefit themselves which makes them lie in their defense. I really like the idea in which people can tweet whether or not they thought each answer to the republicans debate was a dodge or not. More strategies like this one will make each voice herd and even though lying cant be stopped by a tweet, but politicians and the government can see that lies only follow the truth and we are the people who choose which politician we want in or out.

I think that lies are the only way politics know to make reach their goals. They either lie to defend themselves or to attack their opponents but this just make things worse, lies make them vulnerable to their opponents, they will attack their personality instead of their arguments itself. I think that the gravity of lies vary depending of what kind of lie is told; for instance, it’s not the same to tell a lie knowing that what you are saying is completely false or to tell a lie deceived by false facts given to you by someone. In the case of Colin Powell I think that the CIA is guilty for what happened there, but Powell is also guilty for taking such a delicate matter like that and affirming something that hasn’t been proved. Two nations started a war that took thousands of lies based on false assumptions and who paid for that? Not the CIA, not Powell...

Yes we should accept the fact that politics is this game of partisanship and just turn the other way and let the game go on. That is if we want to live a simpler life. Guys, we can’t change the way these guys play their own games. One has to understand that lying is inevitable when it comes to politics. Ultimately, what we have is candidates attempting to win over our votes by telling us what they would do in a perfect world, better yet a perfect scenario. But as history has proved to us over and over, we are not living in a perfect world and these politicians promises have not lived up at all in recent years. One can argue that this is definitely a way of giving up ones freedom but when it all boils down we have two choices and that is to vote or not vote. And if you cannot stand firm and truly believe the promises made by who you’re voting for then what’s the point?

I am a democrat. If deceiving doesn’t go along with democracy, I don’t support it at all.
If the people want democracy, people should vote. Turning around and ignore the problem isn’t going to do any good to the democratic system. Therefore we should take decisions based on the knowledge we have and vote.
We should have a serious commitment to truth, because that would make us better persons. If we want to have a better quality of live, we should do something about it. It depends on what we decide.
I don’t think we should get used to it; instead we should improve the system. Trying new ideas is the only way to reach a solution to the problem of untruthful politicians.
Another approach to the problem would be to implement a regulatory body that publicly informs and penalizes political untruthfulness. That way politicians would diminish the practice of deceiving and maybe a better democratic system would be possible.

My parents once told me a heavyset man with a white beard would deliver my Christmas gifts by sleigh and reindeer. They told me his name was Santa Claus. Well, it wasn’t just my parents, each of my peers told me about Santa Claus, too. These same people presented to me an idea that once a year a rabbit delivered a basket of candy and laid colorful eggs during the night before every Easter- laid eggs like a chicken. When I turned eight, the idea of Mr. Claus and rabbit no longer made sense. I learned they didn’t really exist. The same people, who assured me they did exist, were now telling me Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny where only made up characters. After I placed my hope, my good behaviors and trust in these characters, I learned they were nothing more than lies. Then, something occurred and I soon let go of the lies and actually began to participate in the same lies, supporting their truth. I was lying, and didn’t even believe the things I presented to be a lie. Further more, many people don’t believe they’re lying when telling young children about these bogus characters. But, reverting back to the definition of lie it states: a false statement deliberately presented as being true; a falsehood. Lying is defined as: presenting false information with the intention of deceiving. Some will deny the fact they’re lying by stating there were no intentions to deceive. But, these same people pressure their children to behave by threatening them with the idea neither characters will deliver gifts if they misbehave.

Using the example above, let’s compare politicians to the parents and citizens to the children. A presidential candidate presents a series of promising ideas to citizens of the United States during election campaign- also rewarding to the citizens. The presidential candidate becomes president. During a speech, the president addresses the Nation mentioning the series of ideas. Only now, the president expounds on citizen requirements in order for the series of ideas to become truth. Soon the citizens become suspicious of the presidents ideas. Speculations of the president lying appear everywhere. Then, the things the once citizens believed in, the ideas, which led to the candidate being elected, have been found bogus. The citizens are angry but soon forget it even happened. Further more, some may not even believe the president was lying and made habit of similar deceptions. Four years later, another dressed-up prevaricator comes along promising the world. But, probability presents the new candidate will follow the lying path of its predecessor. And the citizens will either mirror their previous response or not cast vote do to their disbelief.

Personally, I don’t think citizens play a significant role in modern politics and the elect. It’s like politicians have created their own fantasy world and citizens are nothing more than characters within those little worlds. With that said, do I think we should accept this partisanship? Absolutely not. But, just as I presented in my example of Santa Claus and Easter Bunny, we will forget the lies ever occurred, believe they weren’t lies merely fibs, and/or follow tradition. Consequently, there is no matter to get used to when considering lies- we’re already used to them. It is believing something to be a lie and its repercussions are significant. For example, a politician decides to lie about WMD, invades a foreign country for its resources and then governs that nation- classic imperialism. We’ve become desensitized to the effects of politicians lying.

I’m humored by the simile, which compared politics to theater. Yes, this is a very serious issue. It does affect our daily lives, our futures. But a commitment to truth will never become an honest commitment. It will only become another lie to tally, a truth to track in the codas of our once glorious United States of America. I would like to end with a quote by Plato. He once wrote “Honesty is for the most part less profitable than dishonesty.” By the way, there is no such thing as Democratic and Republican parties.

Lying is a human trait. We have all lied at one point or another and many people do it daily. For many of us, our lies will only ever affect a few people but when a politician lies it is a different story. Their lies can affect an entire nation and even the entire world. Knowing this I do not understand how we dismiss the lies of politicians daily. Whether it is lying about your actions behind closed doors or lying and leading us to war, it is wrong.
Society must hold politicians at a higher standard. Not because they are better or smarter than us but because we have chosen for them to be our leaders. Of course leaders are not flawless, we must all realize that. Some people are better than others and we, as a society, must find these people and help them make it to the top. Therefore it is our fault for allowing subpar politicians to gain power. As a society, we have allowed these people to gain power because we feel that all politicians are liars. Now this may be true but it is our fault for ignoring these lies. I feel the reason we allow these lies to go by is because we do not take them personally. We must call out a politician on a lie the same way we would if it was a friend or family member lying to our face. We would not only be offended or hurt by a friends lie but we would do something about it. I have faith in humanity that there are hard working, honest, decent people out there. Why we allow these people to go unnoticed is beyond me.

Politics keep lying and the public is getting use to idea that all politics will lies. Politics lies have different purposes, ones more evil and dangerous than others but at the end lies. The question which one is the repercussion of those lies to our society. We as voters in most cases give our vote to those politics who say what we want to hear. The public sometimes is not ready to hear the true so we as voters maybe have our share of blame for this situation. They give us promises of better future and we believe on that. But every time the elections time comes the same pictures is shown to us. We elected a ground of people to decide for the future of an entire nation and their citizens. Voters should have more knowledge of who our politics are and which one has been the trajectory of their political career.

This means parents with low educations who are not able to provide in many cases academic help to their sons. In some other cases, students with Hispanic background have parents whose don’t understand English at enough level to be able to help their sons with homework and outside class assignments. Many of those students start working full time jobs at early ages to help to support their family. This could interfere with their class attendance and the time that they should dedicate their academic preparation. Their expectations and achievements in school could be low because those students are lack of guides that help them to understand who important is to have quality education. Also, the education system should work on new strategies that help to improve the academic performance of Latinos and African American students.
